Beyond the Streets

LADY PINK

New York City

LADY PINK’s surrealist paintings offer rich acrylic interpretations of both her natural and urban surroundings. The Ecuadorian-born artist started painting New York City subway trains in 1979 at the age of 15. In 1982 she had a starring role in the motion picture Wild Style and by the age of 21 enjoyed her first solo show at the Moore College of Art, casting her as something of a cult figure in the subculture. Since then LADY PINK has established herself in the fine arts world with her female-focused murals, illustrations and paintings, while she continues to share her experience with young people through mural workshops and university lectures.
