The Bill Daniel Railroad Miscreant Handbook is a multimodal archive document and user’s guide to the century-old folkloric practice of railroad moniker mark-marking. Daniel is a Texas-born artist, filmmaker and photographer. His work has earned him a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship in 2008 as well as awards from Creative Capital and the Wattis Foundation and a residency at Headlands Center for the Arts, among other accolades. Daniel’s touring video installations and books (The Girl on the Train in the Moon, Sunset Scavenger, Mostly True, Tri-X-Noise) have appeared everywhere from the Museum of Modern Art and Deitch Projects to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, MOCA and countless DIY spaces across the country, while his influential documentary, Who is Bozo Texino?, has screened extensively worldwide.
