High and low culture meet in the works and persona of Anthony Lister. Born in 1979 in Brisbane, Australia, Lister received a BFA from Queensland College of Art in 2001 and helped pioneer the street art movement in his home city as a teenager. Now among Australia’s most renowned studio artists, he continues to be active in the streets as well (legally and illegally). His signature style is on display in “Moloch of Luna Park,” wedding elements of graffiti to a painterly approach employing charcoal, spray paint, acrylic and oil stick. A documentary about his life and process, Have You Seen the Listers?, debuted at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2017. Lister currently lives and works in Sydney.
